What Makes It "Strong": The décor is funky 50’s flea market. The baristas are quirky, friendly and care about their craft. And the brew is always on point, especially PCH’s “Flatiron” blend, named for the triangle shaped home.

The circa-1910 building also houses an antique shop and art galleries and is just steps from the Paramount Center for the Arts. Vintage burlap bags, sporting the names of coffees from around the globe, line the walls, as sometimes do artwork by local students.

Dark-roasted beans from Papua New Guinea and Central America make for a “camp fire smoky” and rich cup of Joe. Lattes are also popular and can be made with soy or almond milk. For eats, there are baked goodies as well as paninis and savory or sweet crepes. On the weekends, PCH is a venue for local musical talent.
